The foundation had used video before, but it never landed the way they wanted. They needed a patient story that felt cinematic, not clinical. Something that would connect emotionally with an audience in under three minutes, and make the case for funding without ever mentioning money.
The gala theme was "Journey," and the video had to honor that while telling a real patient's story with the emotional depth it deserved. Every detail mattered, from interview questions to camera placement to sound design.

We produced multiple pieces for the gala: a patient story film following a high-risk pregnancy journey at Surrey Memorial Hospital, a feature on the doctors involved in her care, a sponsor reel for partner engagement, and coverage of the sponsor dinner, an exclusive tasting event where gala sponsors previewed the evening's menu. Three videographers covered the live gala to capture every angle in a 500-person venue.
We started with strategy, not cameras. We developed the narrative arc before the first shoot, built a paper edit around the strongest emotional beats, and planned every interview question to serve the story structure. In post, we handled editing, color grading, motion graphics, and sound design, including AI-assisted audio cleanup for interviews recorded in a noisy event environment. The foundation invited us back before the project was even fully wrapped. We're already locked in for the 2027 gala.
